Way Past Expiration Date

Whooo… yeah. It’s been quite a while since my last post. … and … it may be a while yet again. Who knows? Go fish!

Speaking of fish… I got a beta the other day. I’m still trying to figure out if it’s eating properly. It sucks in a piece of food, and then spits it out. Someone on the web said that may happen when the food is too dry and to soak it for a bit. The only absolute result of soaking the food so far is that it sinks immediately. Yeah, right. I can see how that helps. I’m thinking some freeze-dried sea monkeys or blood worms may give it more of an appetite. Oh… and yes, its name is Max. How original.

Think inside out.

Art Direction I is most interesting in that it teaches us to think of why we feel. The exercises are not for the faint of mind. They positively require creative thinking. But, again, WHY do we do what we do? How can we, as designers, use that knowledge to convey an idea AND invoke the reactions and feelings that we intend? This class reminds me of Basic Graphic Design, only deeper, and more focused on persuasion of the idea than on the execution of the idea.

Chickadie Chokadie

Pan frying chicken is not as easy as it sounds. How do you know when the oil is 350 deg.? The cooking thermometers I have don’t go over 199, and gas ranges don’t usually say what temp. the fire is. Well… Long story short, the oil turned black and the chicken was still not fully cooked. Oven, meet chicken!

Site Down / Site Up

I’m not sure what happened, but for a short time the entire Go Daddy hosting was gone. Their site and mine.

But, it’s back up now.

… Speaking of backup… May as well do that, just in case (again.)

Excelent!

OK, the new site is running nicely. I have a real blog system going. I have an easy way to post to the blog system.

NOTE: I sought out a blog system, due to the inability to use the Mambo system properly on all Mac browsers, except FireFox. That means I can’t post Newsflash items unless I’m at home. (FireFox is not available on my class computers.)

BUT! Does all this technology and convenience mean I’ll actually use the system? Who knows? This may be just another passing fancy, something to mess around with. I did try to post news via the Mambo stuff from class, but as I have mentioned, that failed.

Mail Test

This blog was posted via the e-mail auto-posting system. Basically I send a blog message to my super-secret blog e-mail account and then that account auto-forwards it to Blogger.com, which in turn auto-posts it to my blog hosting site.

Can you read me now? Are you sick of that the “Can you (insert word here) me now?” tagline?

Testaroonie

I'm having Blogger work with my own server, so I figure a test is in order to verify that this crazy thing works right.

Can you see me now?
